Staff is friendly and very approachable if you have questions they clearly take pride in their place of work.

If we'd had more time we would have called ahead to arrange for an in-person guided tour, which I'm sure would have been excellent. We did a self-guided tour through the distillery which was quite adequate for our time frame and very informative.

Neat place with lots of interesting historical displays and information about their distilling processes with plaques, pictures, and displays. It's goofy and one of my favorite souvenirs from our trip. Check the nearby Gator Bob's for a coconut prisoner head fresh from the gallows. So you can wander the area a bit and still get your tour on time. They start a new tour every 15 minutes and seemed to always do a warning when it was starting soon. Definitely a must do! Be sure to take pictures of your family in jail. We had four adults and one teenager and we all loved it. You can see one in my photos, some are also laying in bed sleeping and such. Be aware there are fake figures in some of the cells, they could spook some kids so you might want to prepare them if needed. The site itself was interesting and well done. He plays the character well without getting too stuck in the time period. He toned down some of the more gruesome parts to fit the young children in our group but without losing any details for the adults, that's a hard task. Our tour guide was Bobalew and he was absolutely amazing!!! I love museums and do a lot of tours and he was probably my favorite guide ever. Well worth the money and wonderful history lesson for kids of all ages. Enjoy the huge trees covered in Spanish Moss. Be sure and hike the trail that goes behind the lighthouse. We watched and archaeologist work on items retrieved from ocean dives. The Tin Pickle is the stop for a hotdog, muffin, brownie, soda or a cold beer. Be sure to appreciate the landscaping and Florida foliage as well as the lighthouse keepers garden. Climb to the top of the lighthouse or enjoy the view from a comfy seat. Many kid friendly things including pirate ship playground, outdoor play area with games and a trail that promotes hands on learning. Restrooms available in several convenient locations. Staff is wonderful to make doable suggestions to make those with canes or walkers welcome and comfortable even if climbing stairs is physical limited. Don't be intimidated if you have mobility handicaps.

Has History, souvenirs, antiques, archeology and more. By the end of the two hours, I was feeling much more confident in my ability to pick the right wave, the timing of paddling and catching it and when to get up on the board.Any absolute delight. I caught a bunch of waves - a few well, and a few not so well.but she was great at helping me to analyze what went right and what went wrong and was very patient and encouraging. Kaitlyn was a great coach and get me back in action right away. 😬 I have surfed a few times before, but basically once a year on vacation for the last 3 years, so I'm still a beginner each time. She even brought me a surf shirt to wear since I was worried about my bikini not being the right design to stay in place during surfing. He was very helpful and accommodating in setting me up with Kaitlyn for the next morning. I called JR kind of late Monday night to see if I could get an early lesson the next day. I had a great time on my surf lesson with Kaitlyn.
